Make Your Bedroom a Refreshing Getaway

It's a fact: the average person spends more time in the bedroom than any other room. This room is always designated for sleeping and nothing else. Your bedroom should be a personal Getaway, with a mood that is set for relaxation, meditation, reading and romance.‬

Create a Private Retreat
Forget White walls - experiment with color. For the timid, try pastel shades first; if you are dramatic, try a bolder color Use your imagination!.
Plants add serenity and interest to a bedroom, add oxygen to the air and a natural look. If furnishings are sparse, use a large plant, like palm trees, Benjamin ficus, or rubber tree in a decorative pot in front of the window.
If your bedroom is spacious, add a chair and ottoman or chaise lounge. These furnishings offer comfort and actually provide an invitation to recline and read or nap.
Invest in high-quality flannel, pima cotton, or satin sheets. Sleeping should be cozy or sensual as possible.

Keep a daily log on your nightstand. Each night, pause and reflect on your day in words. It's a good way to unwind and allow the day to drain away.
Keep a tray next to your bed or chair and stock it with your favorite herbal or regular teas. Fill a beautiful ceramic or pottery teapot with boiling water, and brew a pot of relaxation.
Place scented candles of different heights in front of the mirror, on your dresser. Light them before a romantic encounter to scent the air, and watch the lights flicker and dance around the room.
Purchase or make several throw pillows with chenille or velvet material with colors that coordinate with your bedroom. They make a great back support for reading in bed.

Designate an area for practicing yoga, meditation, or stretching exercises. Wonderful ways to ease into or end your day.

Don't forget music - it can calm you down, rev you up, make you feel like dancing, singing wake you up, or lull you to sleep.
