Nothing is more invigorating to hot summer skin than a chilled splash or spritzer of a freshly made, natural skin toner. These llightly scented toners can be customized to your skin type and fragrance preference.
Natural skin toners have been used for centuries to refersh, pamper, and gently scent the skin and air. the following recipes can be applied as a splash, a light mist from a spray bottle, or with cotton balls. Use anytime or immediatley after a bath/shower to remove traces of cleanser and prepare your skin for moisturizer. Store in the refrigerator and discard after one week.
For Normal to Oily Skin:
Brew a cup of strong pepermint or lemon balm tea.
Chill it, and use to remove excess oil and shine from your skin
For itchy, rashy skin:
Pour a cup of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of crushed fennel seeds.
Steep for 10 minutes, Strain and chill.
For all skin types:
Brew a cup of strong chamomile tea, chill and use to soften and moisturize.
This is particularly good to use during the winter, when skin dehydrates
and chaps easily.
For normal and dry skin:
Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable glycerin to 1/2 cup of rose water.
The glycerin will act as a humectant and draw water vapor from the air
to your skin. This makes a super, light floral summer moisturizer that
can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 months. Shake well before each use.

Make Your Bedroom a Refreshing Getaway
It's a fact: the average person spends more time in the bedroom than any other room. This room is always designated for sleeping and nothing else. Your bedroom should be a personal Getaway, with a mood that is set for relaxation, meditation, reading and romance.

Forget White walls - experiment with color. For the timid, try pastel shades first; if you are dramatic, try a bolder color Use your imagination!.
Plants add serenity and interest to a bedroom, add oxygen to the air and a natural look. If furnishings are sparse, use a large plant, like palm trees, Benjamin ficus, or rubber tree in a decorative pot in front of the window.
If your bedroom is spacious, add a chair and ottoman or chaise lounge. These furnishings offer comfort and actually provide an invitation to recline and read or nap.
Invest in high-quality flannel, pima cotton, or satin sheets. Sleeping should be cozy or sensual as possible.
Keep a daily log on your nightstand. Each night, pause and reflect on your day in words. It's a good way to unwind and allow the day to drain away.
Keep a tray next to your bed or chair and stock it with your favorite herbal or regular teas. Fill a beautiful ceramic or pottery teapot with boiling water, and brew a pot of relaxation.
Place scented candles of different heights in front of the mirror, on your dresser. Light them before a romantic encounter to scent the air, and watch the lights flicker and dance around the room.
Purchase or make several throw pillows with chenille or velvet material with colors that coordinate with your bedroom. They make a great back support for reading in bed.
